The Good. The Bad. The Ugly: Changing Seasons

Today we are going to take a walk down memory lane and talk FASHION!

What are some of my favorite and least favorite trends? Well let's have some fun and start remembering...

Who remembers rolling their jeans up? Hideous! Why I did that I have no idea. That should've been a big oh no.

Who remembers the skorts? Those were definitely a favorite in the 90s. I had denim. I had khaki. I had every color you can think of. I would easily wear those again.

I was always jealous of the girls with the denim skirts with the splatter paint. I never got my own. But loved, loved, loved it! My daughter will bring this back!

Who had the stirrup leggings? I did! My mom loved dressing us in these with big sweaters and Keds. I'm not sure I would bring this back.

Jellies were definitely a favorite shoe of all time. I love buying them for my daughter now. Scrunchies should've been a big oh no. Let's stick to bows.

How about those Coca-Cola shirts? Saving Coke tabs. I remember winning my T-shirt. How about you?

And the stretchy shirts. That definitely should've been a big oh no! Why I would sneak in my sisters closet to wear hers, I have no idea.

Who remembers everyone showing up at Christmas dinner wearing their new windbreaker? I wish they would come back. They should've never left. Those are the most comfortable outfits ever!

Butterfly clips are right up there with banana clips. They should've been a big oh no! Yet everybody was wearing them.

Doc Martin's. My mom could never afford them for us. But oh how I love them. I could dress the 90s grudge for the rest of my life.

When it comes down to my favorite fashion I just say denim. Denim skirt, denim shirt, denim overalls, denim, denim, I love denim. Denim is comfortable! This would be something I would wear…

Honestly I don't know much about fashion. But, I do know that fashion changes with the seasons, and the seasons with time. Looking at the pictures of fashion, I was reminded of the different seasons God has led me through.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..." |Ecclesiastes 3:1|

Whatever season you are in, a new one is just around the corner. God has a sovereign plan for every season.

God led me to this scripture today and it just lifted my spirits. I hope it lifts yours as well...

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

|Ecclesiastes 3:1-8|

  1. Really lovely post. Thank you. Am with you on the 'would wear 90s grunge forever' one! I had my old - flowery - Doc Marts up until just a few months ago. I used to look at them wistfully every time I opened the closet where they were kept! Thank you for the scripture: I needed to hear that today.

    1. Thank you and you are welcome! This blog was a little bit harder for me since I have four kids and don't really have time to think fashion. It was extremely fun though walking down memory lane.
