The Good. The Bad. The Ugly: Playoff Bound - Hico Tigers!

As I mentioned before, football in a small town is HUGE!!! This morning on the way to school it was so exciting to see the signs along the roads that our students had made to cheer on our Hico Tiger's football team that is Playoff Bound TOMORROW! Some of my favorite signs were…"sack the wolf pack" and "make them cry wolf".

This morning during my Bible study I read…Prayer is not an alternative to preparation and faith is not a substitute for hard work. God can and does provide miraculously for His people as needed, but He also expects us to use our God given talents and resources to provide for ourselves.

This made me think of our Tigers. Obstacles came. Teammates injured. But week after week they prepared. They used the resources they had. Worked hard. Showed up on Friday nights. Played hard. Earned the title…District Champs. Now here we are PLAYOFF BOUND! 

We can learn from our Tigers. As we run the race for Christ, obstacles will come. Set backs will happen. But don't give up. Continue to prepare. Use the talents and resources God has given you. Work hard. Run hard. Earn the title…Well done thy good and faithful servant! We are HEAVEN BOUND!
