Rowdy with God's Kids: Such a Time as This

Yikes! I have butterflies in my stomach. It's been a while since I've been this nervous. It's a feeling I get EVERY time before ministering to God's kids. Tonight, I will be leading the worship portion of our church's Wednesday night kid's program.

The devil has definitely tried to discourage me, but God always prevails through His word. I'm currently studying the book of Esther. God had a divine purpose for her. A purpose she did not see until it was time. His perfect timing. He used her to save her people. His people. I have no doubt He is going to use me the same way He used Esther. He placed me here, and He has a purpose for it.  His children.

And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14

Last night I went to practice the songs I selected the week before. Except they weren't there!!! Uncle Charlie has taken all but a few of their You Tube worship videos down. Devastated! {I really love their videos} Panic set in for sure. But God! Two of the three songs I had selected are still on there. That's God, folks!

Mordecai turned his many challenges into opportunities.

And, that is exactly what I am going to do! Because I couldn't use Uncle Charlie videos, I was forced to consider other resources that I normally wouldn't use. This led me to VBS You Tube videos. Who doesn't love VBS songs? I do! Why stop singing them when summer is over. I will definitely be using these in upcoming weeks, but here's what we are doing tonight…

1.) Open with rules, or as I like to say my Pet Peeves. Don't be a space invader {don't pick your neighbors nose and boys NO braiding each others hair} or a bump on a log. Let's get ROWDY worshipping our King!

2.) Open in prayer.

3.) Song One: Oh Happy Day

4.) Game One: Balloon Pop. Inside the balloon, I have a paper that reads…TELL THE WORLD. I will give each game participant a blue balloon. They will have to pop the balloon, find the paper, and yell what is written on the paper. The first one that yells…TELL THE WORLD, wins! This game is intro to our next song. I will ask...

What could possible be so important to tell the WHOLE WORLD?
JESUS LIVES AND HE DIED FOR THEM!!!

5.) Song Two: Tell the World {I love the Hillsong motions to this song. They get a little ROWDY which I LOVE!!!}

6.) Game Two: Balloon Relay. I will give each game participant a red balloon. On the word, GO, they will race from starting line to the finish line hitting their balloon with their head. {I'm using red streamers for the start and finish line} If the balloon touches the ground, they will have to start at the beginning. First one to cross the finish line, wins! This leads to the intro to our next song. I will ask…

What does the color red remind you of?
The blood Jesus shed for me!!!

7.) Song Three: Love the Lord

8.) Game Three: Balloon Relay {Just because we like to get ROWDY}

9.) Select a Kid to dismiss bless the food and dismiss us in prayer.

10.) Dinner and RA's and GA's

I close with this. God has a purpose for you. He doesn't want you to sit and do nothing, however He doesn't want you to do everything either. Such a time as this. Pray. Love. Serve. When the time is right, you will know exactly what God has purposed you to do.
