However, it's Friday, so this topic will have to wait for another time. I told myself this Friday I would start my Fun List Friday where every Friday I will share one of my fun list with you. I love writing. More importantly, I love writing list rather it be a grocery list on the back of an envelope, a packing list on the back of school work, or my to do list on my calander. You name it, I list it! Anywhere ;)
My first Fun List Friday: My Goals for 2015
1.) Grow our Homestead: I want to grow a homestead that is founded on Jesus Christ. I can't wait to plant my first garden and raise some chickens. I really have no excuse now. My dad bought a tractor for this purpose! Now we just need to build our very first chicken coop. Most importantly, I want to continue to see my children grow in their love for God, his Word, and his church through our example and leadership as parents.
2.) Pursue Relationships: I want to be 'present' and 'renewed' in my relationship with my Savior, husband, and children. God has opened the door for me to stay at home. A door I tried to shut. Being home, I have the luxury of some me time. Kind of. After my breakfast and morning devotional, I spend my morning doing laundry, picking up, cleaning, chasing a soon to be two year old around as I attempt to keep our little homestead functioning. After lunch, I have a good two to three hours for me (I will touch on that shortly). In the afternoon, when it's time to be a family, I want all distractions removed. I deem 4 to 8 pm our family time! No tv, phones, social media, video games, etc. I hope my insta family understands my lack of presence now. I also want to continue to be consistent in our family devotional time and our devotional time as husband and wife.
3.) Utilize my Me Time Wisely: I want to be sure to use my me time wisely, not being lazy. I seriously could take a nap everyday with my daughter! I want to let my creative juices flow. To continue to use my talents and gifts God has given me to bless others. Creating websites and blogs. Writing. I want to write more. And share. I enjoy creating for ministries and my husband's upcoming venture. And my favorite! Preparing to minister to God's children. I look forward to all the ways I will be ministering to God's children this new year. Call me selfish. This time is needed.
4.) Nix the Negativity: I have finally learned it's not about me or what I want. I don't want Satan to be able to use me to bring discord. God put me here to give of myself and serve others for Him, not for me to get, get, get. I want to replace my negativity with positivity. Slow to speak. I want to lift people up, not tear them down. Be a peacemaker. I want to respond in love; having the compassion of Jesus. To sum it up, I want to be more like Him!
5.) Stop Dreaming: This is a must! I want to stop dreaming that my pants will fit, and actually do something about it! Like eat right and exercise. No, but really, I have lots of dreams and hopes, I want to stop sleeping on them and wake up and chase them! This is the year of no excuses.
My son has even taken on my love for list making ;)
There's only 5. I figured I better start small. What are your goals this year? Get a pen and start writing! Even if it's just one. Write it! Share it! Achieve it!
