How do I know this? Because it was all over Facebook and the previews on TV. I was told by several friends what a great series of books. A must read. Truth be told, I borrowed them last year to read. I just never got around to it. No time, so I gave them back.
Go ahead judge. I do the same. Here lately I have been cleaning out rental properties for extra money. They are left pretty nasty. I can't believe people even live like that, and expose their kids to it. Yuck! We take all the junk they leave behind and throw it on the curb. Then I clean up while my husband makes repairs.
I don't mind cleaning up until I get to the fridge. I usually feel like I'm going to vomit. No lie. Nasty doesn't describe it. I don't understand how people could even keep their food in such filth with all the spilled stains and rotten food. Much less eat it!
So how would you rate my fridge? Clean or dirty? Well it's clean now! Ha! God used it to teach me a very valuable lesson.
"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye,
but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Matthew 7:3
When I opened my fridge this past week he spoke to my heart…what if someone were to clean out your fridge? What would they think? NASTY!!! I, too, had spilled food and drinks running down the sides and in the bottom. Not to mention the rotting food that was starting to smell.
"You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye,
and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."
Matthew 7:5
Immediately, I began to clean out my fridge. Tears flowing because I knew it wasn't my fridge that was needing cleaning. It was my heart. I asked God to show me my heart. How he sees it…YIKES!
Although I have made progress this past year, I still have things that God is telling me that is NASTY! I have some cleaning up to do while God does some major repairs.
50 Shades of Grey. Not black or white. It's the world we live in. The church God warned us not to become. Lukewarm Christians. Not hot or cold. It's time to take a good look at our heart through the eyes of God.
"So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold,
I will spit you out of my mouth."
Revelation 3:16
It's not my job to decide what is right or wrong. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. However, I must share the joy. I have truly found Redeeming Love in 50 Shades of Red. This is the greatest love story ever! Sin after sin, the blood of Jesus continues to cleanse my heart. May this be the prayer of ever Christian.
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation."
Psalm 51: 10 and 12
